They are especially found in forests and marshy areas. These snakes grow up to about 1 meter long. A zigzag pattern is formed on their body and a V or X mark is formed above the head. The pupils of their eyes are like those of cats. Their bite will not cause death of a person, but the poison can cause swelling, vomiting and dizziness for several days. However, in some cases, death can also occur.

According to the information, the Barred Grass Snake is considered to be the largest native snake of Britain. They can be up to 1.3 meters long. They are often seen near gardens, farms and barns. These snakes are found in France and Ukraine, which were brought to Britain. They are one of the largest snakes in Europe. Their length ranges from 1.3 to 1.6 meters.
